Smartyr Art’s executive director is a video artist and advocate, who himself, suffers from a major mental illness. He went to college at the College of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and is passionate about promoting the work of artists with mental illness and challenging the stigma associated with it.

Assistant Director

Kim E. Cool

KIm Cool is the Assistant Director of Smartyr Art and is a passionate advocate for people suffering with mental illness and seniors. Along with her duties at Smartyr Art she is the Senior Services Program Manager and Meals on Wheels director at the Senior Nutrition Center in Bullhead City, Arizona. Her efforts are personal as she has a brother who suffers from a serious mental illness.

She is a remarkable woman who is dedicated to helping others. She is a role model for artists with mental illness and an inspiration to others who are working to improve the lives of people with mental illness.
